PLANTATION, Fla.
Police arrested a man who led them on a high-speed chase through Miami-Dade and Broward County.
The chase started after Miami-Dade Police say the man was involved in a car accident located at NW 117 St. and 7th Ave. A Public Service Aid was attempting to run the tag of the stolen, silver Lexus when the suspect decided to flee, possibly trying to hit the PSA's car.
Police began the pursuit northbound on Interstate 95. When the driver crossed into Broward County, Miami-Dade police stopped their pursuit. Florida Highway Patrol took over the chase when the driver got onto the Florida Turnpike and headed northbound. He then made a u-turn and exited onto Sunrise Boulevard. He made multiple turns through residential streets and headed east on Sunrise Boulevard. Plantation police cornered the man on the 2200 Block of North University Drive.
Authorities pulled the man from the vehicle and took him into custody.
