Turkish Tanks have crossed into the Syrian city of Ras Al Ain in the past 2 days with a large contingent of Foreign Sunni jihadists, they have begun a coordinated assault on the heavily Kurdish city in coordination with the Al-Nusra Front, a Al-Qaeda linked rebel group designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Here are some articles detailing the events:
Yesterday's fighting in Sere Kaniyê (Arabic Ras al Ain) between the Kurdish people's defense units (YPG) and Arab gangs that have infiltrated from Turkey in Western Kurdistan take on still. Reports of the Kurdish people's defense units in the wake of the fighting, according to at least 70 guerrillas were killed. A fighter of the YPG died in combat, and another was injured.
While Turkey supports the revolt against Assad, it is also home to a sizeable Kurdish minority that has suffered much persecution and suppression.
Activists say they fear Turkey may be using jihadists in Syria to fight its own battle against the Kurds.
