Young mother, 23, raped in front of her three-year-old son by man she met on the internet
A rapist lured a woman he met on the internet to a flat where he sexually assaulted her in front of her three-year-old son.
The 23-year-old victim was introduced to the man - known only as Derek - on a dating site.
She is believed to have met him in person on a number of occasions before the attack.
The woman took her son to meet the man at about 11.30am on September 30 near the M2 motorway, according to police.
The victim followed him to a block of flats within 10 minutes' drive of the centre of Sutton, South London.
While drinking tea in the flat, the suspect suddenly punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious.
He then committed a sexual assault, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
The woman managed to escape with her son and fled the flats at about 3.30pm on the same day.
The suspect is described as white, in his late 40s and of muscular build. He called himself Derek.
'Derek' drove an old green Land Rover with a canvas roof. The spare wheel attached to the rear of the vehicle had a cover with an eagle design.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or the Land Rover is asked to contact the Sapphire Unit on 020 8721 4128.
