Marine Flies F18 Back to His Home; Midway Airport

Yesterday we were heading home when we spotted a F18!!!!! I absolutely LOVE planes and ran home to get my camera and sped back. It turns out there were TWO F18's. The one up in the air and as you see in our video, was piloted by a Marine from the Clearing neighborhood of Chicago and in the backseat, a Navy (Backseater) Pilot. They were traveling about 330mph (or 330 knots) in the fly over as seen in our video.

Our camera battery was out of juice and I desperately looked for an outlet since I carry everything with me. Luckily there was an outlet as I continued filming while plugged in. LOL

We also got to go through the special entrance that celebrities, athletes, etc use and onto the airfield (but could not take photos). It was so very exciting getting to speak to all (4) Pilots and seeing the planes, their special gear. They have to wear special uniforms which pump air into it so they don't pass out traveling at the speeds they fly. The air compresses the veins.

They told me that they were traveling on average, 600-660mph to arrive at Midway and broke the sound barrier, although according the Naval Pilot which was in training, it didn't even feel any different when they did. It was like traveling in a car! YEAH

Nothing says I'm back home then pulling up in a F18, eh? The Pilot from my neighborhood was happy to be back home and flew over Clearing as well over Bedford park and the railyard. Too bad he didn't have a "F*CK YOU DALEY" sign on the F18.
