Russian nuclear submarine captured in Swedish waters (1981)
In October 27, 1981 a serious incident happened in Swedish waters where a Russian U137 Submarine was captured.
"Recent interviews with and investigations of Russian officers and naval commanders involved in this situation revealed that the U137 commander had orders to launch the vessel's nuclear weapons against Swedish targets if any attempt was made from the Swedish forces to capture the vessel".
11 days after it's capture the submarine was released back to the Russians to avoid war.
