(Telegraph) Demonstrators in the Syrian town of Al Rastan are purpotedly hit by mortar shells as they gather to protest against Bashar al-Assad north of Homs. Early reports suggest at least 13 people were killed when the mortar shell dropped onto a group of protesters in the town of Al Rastan in the Homs province.

The moment of the attack was captured on video. In the footage a large group of people can be seen inside a building chanting and waving placards. Suddenly an explosion is heard and the crowd runs toward the open front of the building away from the sound of the blast.
