Carbon Fiber may be light in weight, but it's immensely strong. Similar accidents have dismembered track workers in the past. This marshal is extremely luck he wasn't simply bisected by the wing.

The guys gets 'swipe' into the wall so quicly that acutally looks like he gets 'flipped" but he didn't...I think it definetely broke his back by the impact. Not a good place to be standing...
