A patient who underwent face transplant surgery at Akdeniz University Hospital is in good condition.


Prof. Dr. Omer Ozkan, surgeon at Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Department at the Akdeniz University Hospital in Turkey's southern
Antalya, and his team performed the face transplant on 19 year-old Ugur
Acar whose face was almost completely seared by a burning blanket when
he was only 40 days old.
After the surgery, Ozkan told reporters that Acar was awakened and he
gave thumb-up to doctors, signalling that everything was OK.
