      No they didn't. I suggest you try reading some books from that era and some other books by Ahmed Rashid and Rohan Gunaratna that make it VERY fucking clear that Bin Laden NEVER received arms or funds directly from the CIA.

      Yes they did. So did the Saudis. All the fundie groups were supported by the US during the 80's to harass the soviets, that's why Reagan praised leaders of all those groups when he had them visit the white house in 1985

      Correct. Except her husband and his regime did back the taliban. They were the only group that could protect the TAP pipeline in Afghanistan and he knew it. They tried to sweep their backing for the talibs under the rug.       That part is true, but what i'm referring to is her claim that the US created Al Qaeda by helping that group during the soviet occupation which is categorically false.

      Liberals like to re-write history and assume that becuase bin-laden was in afghnaistan during the soviet war, and becuase the US helped groups resist the soviets, that the US must therefore have funded and armed bin-laden, and therefore the US "created" AQ, which couldn't be further from the truth. We did help fund the Muj to fight the very genuine threat of an ever expanding Soviet empire, a faction of which was eventually radicalized and morphed into Al Qaeda by a young charismatic rebel Saudi prince by the name of Bin Laden. Of course she neglects to acknowledge that most of the Muj became the Rebel Alliance- the group that fought against Al Qaeda.
