New Jersey teachers abusing 10-year-old boy

Stuart Chaifetz could not believe the statements from teachers at his son's school that his 10-year-old boy was acting out, hitting, and throwing around furniture. The boy, Akian, had never done this before. So he wired up his son to record audio and school one day and was shocked at what he found. Teachers were joking in front of students about getting drunk the night before, throwing up that morning, and still being drunk. They call the boy a "bastard." They bully the boy and tell him that he can't see his dad, which finally causes him to panic into a half-hour meltdown in which the boy, who is autistic, thrashes around the room.

The father, to his credit, fights back with this video. He doesn't take the problem to the principal or the superintendent to be swept under the rug. He simply goes public and exposes the teachers for what they are.

  • :'( Omg... My fiance has autism... I love him so much... He has a hard time getting a job because people don't want to hire a person with autism. Those discriminating bastards. And as for his son, that isn't fair. My fiance has aspergers specifically, and aspies, have tempers, but they don't tend to lash out on people so much as furnature, or his laptop screen for example. And this bullying, thats why autistic people get home schooled! I hope one day, people will wake up and see how smart autis More..

  • Yeah. I would have forgone the video and just set off for the school. Someone would have most likely been punched in the mouth.

    You're a gentler man than I.

  • Bad teacher......we all had them. Doesn't make it any better, but every adult has had a "jodi" for a teacher.

Mine was Mrs. Zeemin in 2nd grade.....a nasty witch mush worse than "Jodi". To this day I remember kids crying in class daily for the wrath she would bring down.

  • Those teachers need to be fired then hired at mcdonalds for the rest of their lives so they can work with people of the same brainless mentality.

  • Anyone that has lived with a child with autism for a few years knows how hard it can be to deal with. My stepson has autism and for the past 5 years it's been ,for lack of a better word,, CRAZY.
He is 16 and wil not do anything we ask him and he has an excuse for everything. We have to tell him every step of the way on how to do something and then he will reply " I KNOW!!!" so we say " ok then go ahead and do it' and he will say something like "HOW CAN I NOW, I'M ALL WORKED More..

From what you describe, dealing with your stepson sometimes takes more than what you can give.

Get help. It does not have to be professional, it can be relatives, friends or from your comunity. Get help so that you can improve the quality of your life but more importantly his.

We all have our limits, you need to get away when you feel like you are slipping towards acting out of frustration and anger rather than rational thought.

    • @xvexed ,Thank you, We have contacted Kid-link and the release forms have been signed and it is in the works for him to go to an residential institution.
It's not only I that have reached the limit but the teacher's,case worker, doctor, all the way down to the school bus driver. I have honestly tried and am still trying to get him to understand. If he's going to have to have a person with him at all times to tell him when it's time to do something and then reason, exsplain, bargain and it always More..

Why did you use the word "actual". Do you have a touch of the goofiness as well?

  • Before you go and belive Stu... just know he is a local media whore and a liar, He is a best known for his "causer" support of anti bear hunting group in Northern NJ, well known for exagerating and intentionally misleading statements, and man y other radical propaganda tactics. He and his friend's statements are "..Dubious at best..."

  • This is a total disgrace and every effort should be taken to bring those responsible for their atrocious behavior before a Court or similar legal educational board, they should be made to answer for their digraceful behavior, you Sir are a wonderful father for taking the initiative and bringing this out into the open.

  • What a great dad. He is very restrained. I can't say that I would handle the same situation that maturely. The teachers and the school both deserve to be punished for allowing this behavior to continue and then doing nothing about it.
