Lost in the back and forth between the Obama and Romney campaigns over who's the real Medicare cutter is a critical difference between visions: President Obama's plan is to make the program solvent by reducing payments to health care providers, while Rep. Paul Ryan achieves his savings by transforming Medicare into a voucher-like system.

  • According to the CBO, Obamacare will cost 2 trillion dollars and leave 30 million uninsured while siphoning off almost a trillion dollars from medicare then medicare goes broke in 13 years. Paul Ryan's plan will not touch medicare for anyone over age 55 and will save medicare for future generations. These are facts. ObamaFail. Next issue.

  • I doubt many folks in LL are actually capable of both reading, and truly understanding the mechanics that underpin each Medicare plan.

    I know that i have difficulty, and really don't relish reading hundreds of pages of really boring policy documents.


    So, in that regard, support for any plan boils down to "who do you trust".

    I do not trust President Obama, and I will endevor to read as much about Paul Ryans plan as i can stomach.
