Well, though I mostly agree with you on this one - we are in murky waters here, because both Iraqi and Afghan conflicts need historical time distance to be judged and analyzed properly.
There were many clumsy mistakes (both military and political) done by both NATO and Coalition forces which were far too obvious to be random/unintentional ... but that's another story.
