      Probably right. When alive, he will be in the hand of the Assad-Goverment, who will interrogate him about any CIA-Membership. Personally I followed this guy on twitter, and I think he really went there for journalism..

    • @fotoman4u2 He is a journalist..part of the risk in a war. Tens of thousands of americans and europeans go to the M/E on vacation every year and have a wonderful time. Europeans were even on vacation in eastern libya that was under rebel control in april/may of '11 enjoying the beaches and the greek and roman ruins. They made it home safe. Take a chance and leave your trailerpark sometime.

  • Yeah yeah...I read about the "freelancer" Austin Tice.
    Theres a english carreer website who he is registered and there you can read about him that he have some military education....I didn´t think he is there as a journalist...more I think a Adviser of the terrorists!

  • The Assad regime doesn't grant visas to independent journalists. They only allow captive useful fools like Robert Fisk in who they can count on not to go too far off the Assad message.
