Californians who become seriously ill may be forced to enter some sort of "holding pool" where their future treatment will be decided upon. Apparently the law there considers certain treatment regimens to be cost prohibitive.
Is the "pool" actually a final rest home (glue factory) for those who are deemed too expensive to help?
Huffington Post has more on Congressman Dreier.

Apparently the pool he speaks of is a high risk high premium insurance pool that has a few coverage limitations. A few coverage limitations??? Nice. Empty your life savings to pay for inflated health insurance risk premiums that should cover most anything but still end up losing/selling everything you own because you lack coverage.
Under the Obama plan these people will get a bullet proof health insurance plan that will unconditionally cover most anything. No more worrying about health care expenses pushing you and yours into homeless ruin while you are fighting for your life.
