Anaphylactic shock is a killer. Must have been un-diagnosed. An epipen would have saved him, sad.

Wow, hell of a reaction. Did he not know he was that allergic? First time stung?

anaphalaxis. epinephrine shot(Most Medics have a few Epipens in their Med Bag),2 Benadryl, Benzedrex inhaler,Afrin for nasal passages (all over the counter medicines) and he lives. I don't carry an Epi Pen but always have some benadryl around in case someone needs it. You never know when you are going to become allergic to stings.You could be stung 10 times and be fine, on the 11th sting you could be in trouble.

@Fire37Rescue
-I became alergic with Anaphalaxis at age 27 and just about died. I had been stung many times throughout my life without problems. Doctor says your body chemistry can change at any time.
-I carry 2 epipens and gave up motorcycles

smart man. I have two firefighters who found out late like you.Last time I was stung (Yellow Jacket),it tagged me on top of my head and it swelled up more then it should have IMO, so I'm wondering if I am becoming more susceptible to stings. Fire Ants tag me all the time and I get a pretty large puss filled pustule.Wife's Chihuahua got stung bad two weeks ago and had to take her to the vet, she looked like a sharpei.

Pretty sad he had to go like that when a simple Epipen may have saved his life.

@gonehuntin If I was as allergic as he was I'd never go anywhere without my kit. Maybe he didn't know? Doubt it though.

@migs1955 Doctor can tell what you allergic to unless you been and done it once, if that was his first timer, is a hell of a way to go to next life

I have a friend who is allergic to bee stings and for whom a sting could bee fatal (sorry) He wears a tag round his neck advising that he has this and that on his person which, in the event of an Anaphylactic shock reaction should bee (sorry) administered.
I guess that would be no fuckin good in most cases and certainly not in Turkey.
