In response to the Stressman's request, here's my Fall garden. I was meaning to do a vid sooner. Thanks JR for the request.

@SSstormtr00per How'd you cook them? I cook 'em like collards/greens, Southern style with bacon. I learned that from Paula Deen. I also like chard raw in salads. Kind of like spinach, but with a slight bitter flavor.

@Stiggy121212
I just threw it in a big stainless pot with some water and boil the hell out of it with the lid on.Amazingly it breaks it up just like spinach if you stir it occasionally as it is boiling.Then after I drain the water I add some butter and salt and voila.
I know I probably lose some of the nutrients into the water and vapor etc but it's great ;)

Stiggy, if I did a garden update right now all you'd see is turned over dirt.
Cilantro and basil are my fav herbs, fer sure, but it all looks good.
Thanks for the shout and a big "CHEERS" from the Sloop.

@-sloop- Thanks, Sloop. The weather has been good lately. We have had some freezes, but not severe. Thanksgiving's supposed to be in the 70s. Cold this weekend though. Life on the prairie. I have a feeling real winter weather will hit in a couple of weeks. Just hope I can get more ripening in the garden. Do the habaneros look ready? The lack of long periods of sunlight sucks.

@Stiggy121212..depending on how big they are, green habs can be fairly hot but still explode with that awesome hab flavor. Try one. :)

@RickBond Thanks. We suffered through surface-of-the-sun temperatures this summer plus a drought. Things got better at the end of August. I have never had this good luck with a garden. Just wish there was more sunlight!

@ARNOLD-R-LANE Noooooooo, compost is the remains of the misses cooking that was wholesale rejected. (read: burnt bits and the "oh, that tastes great dear" bits) Even the dog eats alone.

@john1054 Thanks, John. Garfield, my cat, was last seen at our local Occupy gathering banging on a bong...I mean, bongo.
