@fr33thinker Not true. Orcas can distinguish between a dog with four legs on the seal or sea lion that has fins and in water they are moving quickly and nimbly. Orcs have echolocation, good eyesight and even better hearing. He will know that this is not the same sound as seal which seems swiming dog. Killer whales do not eat dogs. ;-]

That orca had plenty of time to kill the dog, he was just curios. Nevertheless, I am glad they have not evolved into giant amphibious creatures and dry land is a fairly safe place to be.

@TTTorosaurus There is no single one documented atack wild orcas on human... and dogs. There were only a few killer whales atacks in captivity, and even fewer that ended with the death of trainer. Killer whales in captivity are frustrated narrow pools, loud music, silly tricks and dumb people. They do not eat the animals that eat do not have to. Koreans, Chinese, Japanese doing that

Yah, I looked that up. But it's really hard to look into the mind of an orca and say that the captivity itself is causing increased attacks when the captivity is also greatly increasing the chance for an attack. I agree that they are perhaps not particularly dangerous, but they are also not frequently in contact with humans in the wild, so it's hard to really compare wild attack rates with attack rates in captivity.
