Brain-eating convicted killer freed to murder two more after only serving 8 years for murder

A string of errors by psychiatric staff allowed a convicted killer to claim two more victims, a report will say today.

Peter Bryan killed Brian Cherry at his East London flat and ate parts of his brain just hours after his discharge from a London mental health unit.

The schizophrenia patient, now 39, later strangled a man at Broadmoor hospital after staff apparently failed to monitor him.

Today, an independent inquiry is expected to highlight serious failings by staff who believed Bryan was “no longer a danger”.

The findings are based on two separate reports which NHS officials have taken years to publish.

Criticism will be targeted at social workers who judged Bryan safe enough to be freed when he was already guilty of hammering a woman to death.

The first investigation focuses on mistakes by NHS East London, which runs the Newham Centre for Mental Health.

  • most schizophrenics aren't violent murderers, btw

discerning whether one is takes in-depth professional analysis from one or more psychologists

maybe cutting some funding from the imperialist wars and militaries and reshuffling those funds to mental health care would have prevented those extra murders, who knows

    • i think the fact he was ever placed in a mental health ward after being convicted of murder was a failure at the highest levels of authority.

  • Ah yes, another misunderstood colonial, but he really is a good chap at heart. Sprung from decent folk no doubt but simply misguided and hungry. I understand the Duke of Smellington will be putting him up at the estate in Turdmoor for a little R&R. Fox hunts, flower gardening, tea and crumpets, sweatbreads, etc., etc. Perhaps he can regroup and find himself and become sort of a good fellow once again. What-What?
