Why I am against censorship... on sites like this.
I am against censorship on liveleak.com Marked as: Rejected I am against the censoring and deleting of any comments: by allowing the ignorant, arrogant, insulting and stupid comments to be posted, liveleak.com would be displaying for the world to see the exact type of humans that take the time to comment.

But WHY allow this!?!?! You ask? Well…

It would be a lot more interesting to see how people ARE without being told how to act, instead of seeing how they ARE after being told how to act. By keeping liveleak.com comments uncensored, unaltered, un-manipulated we can view the comments as a type of gauge to judge how far humanity (liveleak.com users) has come. To judge where we are by looking at how people REACT to specific stimuli. This type of human behavior should be spotlighted instead of brushed to the side and hidden. We are better served as a species to place our behaviors out in the open for all to see instead of hiding it as soon as possible. I mean, c’mon, it is the Internet after all.

It is in ALL of our best interests to let the comment sections remain untouched.

I can already predict it, the saddest of all revelations that would come after liveleak.com does do what they should. This would be the spamming of comments completely off topic to the video at hand. Just for the sake of advertising something that will make someone money, do we really want to hide this or allow it to reign supreme? If we are prohibited to HIDE IT, (hiding it is the status quo) we might find it unbearable, and then start attacking the source of such idiocy because this spamming is "wrong" it should not be necessary.

It will be better for humanity to solve problems at the source instead of attacking the symptoms. If we keep on hiding the symptoms we will find the source when it is “too late”.

By hiding the symptoms of the problems we obviously have, who are we actually aiding? the answer is, THE DISEASE. So, consider what i have brought up.

When the comments remain untouched a place like this would serve as a guinea pig of sorts for the academic world to see how humans react to certain stimuli...

Finally, when large groups of people attempt to use this uncensored place by spamming it with their view point. I find it to be the mods responsibilities to spotlight the minority viewpoint, thus preventing the drowning of it. The mods would also have to be weary of disinformation and not allow the disinformation to get too much attention..... This what the mods job should be.

Liveleak opposes racial slurs - if you do spot comments that fall into this category, please report them for us to review.
  • A grand idea that would end up being a place of schoolyard insults and childish racism. Academia would be disinterested but it would give people yet another lever to try and pressure the poweres that be into shutting us down somehow.

Sorry, that's the way of it.

KingLawahaha: "Bullshit sites don't get good advertising,....lets say you own a hot dog stand,...and every other hot dog you cook you let one fall to the ground,.but yet you decide to sell it anyway,..the people will taste the grit in some of those hot dogs,.and will not say anything to you,..but will go to another stand instead of yours,..thus your stand (site),..will loose eaters,(lookers),..not to many people like grit in there dogs,..!! There is a bigger customer base looking for cleaner hot dogs,..then people wanting gritty ones,..no what I mean, its all about money and advertising,...and keeping the site viable to all lookers,..not just a few,..got to go with flow,..you know!!,..lol"

I'm not so sure I agree; what 'powers that be' would shut this site down? Have you been warned already?

Is that why you've gravitated away from "Ogrish style" media?

It looks like those hand-wringing lily-livered "liberals" on that BBC program really put the fear of God into Liveleak!"
The rules have been in place since Oct 06. How did the BBC have anything to do with it?"
The whiners who can't read the FAQ's are just cock-a-doodle-doo-ing again, thats all."

You are mistaken in what you say, I am shown no special privelege here. As Triton says I have been warned in the past, I have had comments removed in the past, I just have kinda learned when to stfu and when to jab to the ribs.

    That statement I made above:

"bullshit, i have mastered the game, spanky."

It didn't violate any rules, yet managed to convey a sense of "I am better than you at this" and then throw in a little nickname for your kid brother's friend and there you have a jab.

It managed to tick you off, and be cocky, without violating the FAQ. Flying below the radar, its called.

I CHALLENGE you to show one comment that I have made, that in and of itself got another member banned. You have to remember that people who have already had several warnings in a short period of time, or have been previously banned, get less leeway than others.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't serious about the "bullshit, I have mastered the game, spanky" comment...I was just trying to point out "how" you can use language to intimidate and anger your opponent, while not violating any rules.

  • It is a toughy but if you have seen the way Aids has got grilled recently on the news you should get the picture that it may not take much to jump on LL's free voice box if some measures are not taken.

It is still a very free media site and the childish comments don't seem to have totally disappeared (hey I'm still posting! :)).
