A supermarket worker who police mistook for a gun-toting suspect is suing three Brockton officers, claiming one of them slammed him to the floor, cuffed him and later fudged the facts in a report.

Bill Ceneus, 30, of Brockton, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Boston on Monday. He’s asking for damages and for the three officers to pay his lawyer’s fees.

  • If they had reason to believe he was the armed suspect, then it was an honest mistake. My guess is that they didn't just find somebody to arrest for fun because they were bored.

  • and that was a cheap shot, fucking asshole , unless he was waving a gun around, or anybody dressed in red as a suspect, but a dressed employee as an armed suspect sounds like a good scene in a film,

  • Hey here is an idea. When the Police come up to question you and you dont know why, dont pull away and you wont get slammed. If you are not the guy they are looking for, then you will be on your way. And yes, if you match the description of a suspect, even though you may not be that person, the Police do have the authority to detain you and rule you out as a suspect.
