      I have my own tiny music company run out of the UK and distributed throughout Europe. Just a hundred or so bands and their catalogs but it's niche market music.

      Wildly profitable for some acts and no RIAA garbage. Personally, I take pre-orders for my releases and when they're sold out, I release. After that, I don't care what happens.

      I did re-release my first album to see if there was still interest and it sold 33% more copies than the original so all this file sharing doesn't More..

      You know the little game I played was to release stuff electronically without covers but the CDs had the covers which spelt out a simple phrase on the back spine. They were released out of order but the spine titles were in chronological order. The die-hards collected them all to figure out the phrase. Made 5.5M GBP over eleven inquisitive album titles and great music. I bet it didn't even cost me a tenth of that to produce including purchasing my entire gear collection which is More..
