That was a small one. Get buried in a big one, and the weight of the snow on that bag will be a problem, not a savior.

I think the idea is that it creates an airspace. You can pop the bag or something. I don't think it did the job it was intended for in this instance because she didn't get buried.

not getting buried is the point. It worked perfectly. $1000 well spent, now it's around $500-$700 to get it re-packed.

Pretty good idea,but I wonder if a small version of a parasail chute would be better to get you off of the ground a bit? Just an idea,maybe a bad one,maybe a good one. Im taking donations for future testing.

Same here. If I had to guess. She rode the top of the avalanche, didn't go under and the airbag didn't do a damn thing. But then again what do I know?

Yes, it keeps you nearly on top, so you can dig out yourself. Even in small avalances like this you can end up 2-3 meters deep into the snow.
