      autoblock / ascender most use a foot strap, some use arm, but a foot powered ascender is the way to go. There are several different set ups based on a climber preference. What this guy did was alot of work of a small payoff considering the work required to get back imo.


      Just google ascender and i'm sure it will give a wide range of products.

    • @redog Dude, ha ha, I was using prussiks before Jumars, and ascenders were even made. I realize what he can do to go back up, but if you look to the ropes on the left, they are tied off. He cant go any further. He had a loose line tied to him from the start, and there was a changeover when he got to that point, as you saw. He started out on a double line. With a belay line. Plus he had the descend line attached to him and was slack.
      I have to and can only figure that he just descended down to More..
