UK Young man gang raped by Asian males

Police in Manchester are appealing for witnesses after a man was raped near the city's Piccadilly train station.

On Wednesday 13 January, the victim had been out in the city centre before getting into a car on Bloom Street in the city’s gay village sometime after 2am.

The driver of the car took the victim to Echo Street which is an isolated street close to Piccadilly Train Station. It was here that three other men got into the car and the victim was raped.

The men who attacked the victim are all described as Asian and aged between 30 and 40 years old.

Detective Sergeant Alex Nicholson, of Grey Mare Lane CID, said: “Despite the awful circumstances surrounding this incident the victim has been able to give us a good account of what happened and we are following some excellent lines of inquiry.

“I want to reassure those who live or socialise in the city centre that these are exceptional circumstances and crimes of this nature are very rare.

“If anyone has any information that they think could assist this investigation I would urge them to contact police immediately.”
The victim has been interviewed by specially trained officers and inquiries are continuing.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Grey Mare Lane CID on 0161 856 3240, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
