  • not to sound like some dirty liberal but, this a perfect example of why there should be more funding for education and after school out reach programs.even if there is a one out ten chance of getting them headed in the right direction. still better than 25 to life for killing your mother.

  • The men who apply their minds to something artistic still have something to give back to society. There's a part of them that wants to rejoin the human race. Let them earn some money, and give a cut to pay for their stay, a cut to their victims and the rest to their families.

    Do I think a serious criminal should be able to earn 'outside' money from his artwork while hes in? NO

    Do I think some guy whos serving any kind of time for say... a marijuana related bid should be able to make money selling his art while hes in. YES

    • If when you say 'cut and dry' you mean 'differentiate' then the answer is simple. We know who's doing what time for what crime. Its something like a privilege basis of which currently exists in many if not all institutions....son. 'shit' can work any way we want it to.

      At the same time, I think everyone should be allowed to express themselves artistically, and even make money doing it. No matter who they are...where the money goes, and who oversees where it goes? I don't have a reasonable opinion on that one...yet.
