  • Damn it, RT is reporting the end of the "American Dream" again. We are doomed!

RT Washington: "The end of the American Dream is here. Joining us today to talk about America's doom and gloom is the tie-less, day three bearded dude, and editor of ""I Hate America Daily,"" a Putin News Corp Paper."

  • Now Russian TV is lecturing us about the American Dream.
How about the Soviet dream? Russians murdered tens of millions of their own citizens and about 6 million Ukrainians?
    Why no mention of that?

  • Fairness is a myth. There never was fairness, equality, or the other ideals of the socialists. You will never have those in the other economic forms, either; only less ability to rise to the top.

    • @joe prole We were doing just fine lifting all boats when the CEOs of companies were making 20x that of their lowest employee, now they are making 500 to 1000x more. Why is this? Go back 30 years and see what Reagan did to fuck up everything. Middle class and US industries have been dying off ever since

  • What an utter crock of shit, perpetuated by the lazy "gimme, gimme, gimme" generation. Want to get rich? Work for it. Invent something. Provide a service that is high demand and low density.

Want to get poor? Whine about how life is unfair. Don't cut your hair, shave or bathe. Protest. Refuse to put in a full day of work. Vote Democrat. Etc.

    • @rclark951 Concur. Problem is, and I'm unfortunately old enough to notice, there's a generational difference today in the definition of "work". I see it daily where people belive they're "entitled" to a job, regardless of performance. Luckily there's a few of us "old" guys around to put that mentality in check and keep our instituion functional and alive.

    • @rclark951 If old people are hiring mexicans, it's because they can't get the neighborhood entitlement generation to do the same job, at the same quality, for anything under the price of the latest x-box game. As for non-monetary rewards for work, nothing better than a jug o' sun tea after mowing someone's yard...

Pretty sure we're on the same page. May have different solutions, but agree on the inate problem within our country.
