How Google earth owns north korea

**********READ INFO BEFORE YOU COMMENT************8 minute long video of targets being pointed out over north korea on google earth, and all military targets. highly advanced google satellites positioned over north korea took high definition pictures of military base's and area's. most of the vehicles you see are very old outdated soviet-cold war era mig's and planes that are no match to any countries air force today. most of these pictures are from 2010-2013 considering it takes google years to put all these images together to make one visible part of a country. but this video leads to one question. if it was this easy for google to gather these images on a very secretive and closed place like north korea, what other information have they not released to the general public that may give a edge to Nato if a war ever did break out?

  • North Korea prepares for war against a non existent enemy. But we still give them food and oil to appease them. Food and oil that goes directly to the Military while the civilian population starves.

  • Bwahahaha!!!!
Guy spends 30% of their nation's GDP building up his military and keeping it "the most secretive nation in the world" yet the entire nation's defense just got destroyed in an 8 minute google earth video.
    Trololololol
    Keep starving the peasants, idiots.

  • Its irrelevant. Enemies of north Korea would have had good definition satellite images for years.

Google has bought the images from NOAA, QuickBird, SPOT, EROS etc like anyone else can.

In fact the only thing that would be a surprise if The US Govt allowed a resolution embargo to be lifted for Google. Which I doubt.

Only US Govt(and its lapdogs - Britain, Australia) are allowed full rez. The Image companies *must* down sample the images to all private buyers.

"The French have excellent satellites"? Compared to who? Hopefully you are not comparing them to the US, I would hate to think you worked worked in the profession and were that misinformed.

  • what about the fact that google hides Israeli settlements so Hamas won't target them? Kind of hypocritical I say.

  • The ongoing satellite imaging is global. Whatever is there is imaged, regardless of national boundaries. The sinister implications are in the mind of the poster.

Also, FWIW, I don't believe Google owns any satellites. It obtains its images from those who do.

Its not for CIA, US military, or other intel organizations.
Its for every journalist, blogger, or visitor to North Korea that before this vid could only speculate what is what.
This vid just exposed what has been kept in secret for decades. Google Earth just published NK imagery less than a month ago. Love the power of the internet.

  • You can't invade and occupy that country, not because of it's military strength, but because of something far more dangerous; it's complete and utter subjugation of it's own citizens. The average north korean thinks, despite his malnutrition and daily hardships, that he lives in the greatest country that ever was, and that it's the rest of us who are the crazy bastards.
It's like Japan was during world war two. The people are completely brainwashed, all of them. You'd end up with guerilla warfa More..

    • @st3 I don't believe that for a second. Everything I've ever seen or heard tells me that most everyone in that hellhole knows how bad it is, and would leave in a second if they could.....but they can't.
I believe half the military would surrender in the first few hours and the civilians would turn on the government the moment they knew that the US or some other power had their back.
Hell, I don't even believe that China is a threat to seriously back them anymore if the shit hit the fan. Chin More..

    • @soggy Agree completely about the Military and general population turning against their batshit crazy rulers. But China going along with it? Don't think so. As much as China get annoyed with NK, the fear of a western democracy that has close ties to the US on their border is a nightmare for them. Too dangerous. If it comes to a point where the US try something, they would probably advise the Chinese first to avoid a larger war. And my guess is China would then be forced to act first and strike a More..

Half of the jets are probable made of cardboard, it's known that NK has many fake installations and fake armor to fuck around with google maps and other satellite services.
