I wouldn't ever suggest to "Americanize" anybody. But there are basic standards of civility that should be uniformly adopted among all modern people.
There is no reason that we should not be allowed to criticize their "culture". It's a valid criticism. If your steak came from a cow that was brutally mutilated to death for entertainment, I would make the same criticism.

Please type in your browser "KFC cruelty" and see what you get,but its not just KFC of course.
Most factory farms and slaughter houses of any animals intended for human consumption put living creatures through far worse than you see in this vid.
Compared to that industrial scale torture feeding a few chickens and geeze to lions is really dwarved and the fact that it serves as entertainment is totally irrelevant from the chickens point of view.
