Camden To Lay Off Entire Police Force

CAMDEN, N.J. - August 8, 2012 (WPVI) -- The City of Camden is preparing to lay off its entire police force.

Mayor Dana Redd says by the end of the month the city will submit to the state its plan to layoff Camden's 270 police officers and dismantle the entire department by the end of the year.

It will be replaced by a county-run regional police force that will put a minimum of 400 officers on the streets of this troubled city.

  • No one likes police until they need them..police being laid off yet Romneys taxes are a big fuckin concern? Or Obama's college records? Why are billions going to Israel and others in foreign aid and we can't keep our own facilities open? This is why I don't buy into globalism as a whole..

    Voted 67% for Obama.
    All state assemblymen and senators are democratic.
    Local politicians - democratic party.

    • @trialdog Back when it was a bustling industrial city (silk manufacturing I think) it was ok that mostly blacks lived and worked there. Now the industry has died and the inhabitants are jobless and poor as dirt. They believed Obama's campaign promise or at least thought he would be on their side but he didn't improve their situation. I don't blame blacks for voting for a black "brother".

  • So the City of Camden will drop all their cops and go to a county-wide police force.. This just proves that an all black city can not afford the simple services that it needs to survive.. They will not extend their reach and collect taxes on the white people who live outside the city.
    The black community NEEDS the white community so they can continue to collect welfare
