At a Tuesday campaign stop in Dayton, Ohio, the crowd gave Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney a moment that summed up his candidacy in sad, yet hilarious fashion. Upon introduction of Romney running mate Paul Ryan, they cheered wildly and began to chant “Ryan! Ryan! Ryan!”
When Romney tried to redirect them into a “Romney/Ryan” chant, however, they petered out like a rusty faucet. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough provided a priceless reaction on Wednesday’s Morning Joe.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney introduced Rep. Ryan to
uproarious applause, weirdly saying “Wow! That’s quite a guy, isn’t it?
Paul Ryan!”
Yes, Governor Romney, and this is some delicious pizza, isn’t he?
When the crowd started chanting “Ryan! Ryan! Ryan!” Romney tried to
get them to include him. “Wait a second, wait a second,” he said.
“Romney, Ryan! Romney, Ryan! Romney, Ryan!”
The crowd ignored Romney like he was Andrew Ridgely at a Wham!
concert, except maybe one guy down in front, whom Romney thanked. That
man, if he existed, later told reporters “I thought we were going to a
bar, I was actually saying ‘Romney’s buying!’”
On Wednesday morning’s Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski played
the clip for an aghast Scarborough. When it was all over, Scarborough
had his face buried in his hands. “Oh, sweet Jesus,” he said.
Scarborough was so shaken that he began misquoting the Ave Maria.
“What do the catholics say? Holy Mary, Mother of God? Pray for us
sinners in thy hour of peace?”
Actually, Joe, it’s “…pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our
death,” perhaps a more apt prayer for Romney’s prospects, anyway.
Of that deadly enthusiasm gap, Scarborough said, “You don’t fix it,”
adding that while “Mitt Romney’s a great man” and a “great father, a
great husband. He is a great businessman, great turnaround guy,” he
concluded that Romney is “a horrible politician. He’s one of the worst.”

The Romney camp just announced that they were going to be sending life sized "cut outs" of Romney to campaign stops for the duration of the campaign.
When asked if that strategy was risky...They declared in testing the life size cut out was voted less wooden and had more charisma than the real Romney.
The campaign added we believe the cut out is all around more likable than Romney.

Conservatives tried all along to tell the party elites that Romney was a terrible candidate. Now that Romney is the nominee, it's showing through.
You'd think people would have learned their lesson in 2008 when conservatives tried to tell party elites that McCain was a terrible candidate. But, nope.
Eventually, the people in the smoke-filled GOP backroom are going to choke on their own smoke and die. They certainly aren't doing a good job of picking candidates to win elections. Romney coul More..

“a horrible politician. He’s one of the worst.”
Did that really need to be said? It's pretty obvious. Obama would be out the door as he deserves if the GOP hadn't elected the single most unlikeable person in the continental USA.
Let's put forth a candidate who personifies the heartless big business ethic in the middle of the biggest depression since the 30s.
It's like the Republican party wants to lose.

@jum_runky I agree with everything you said. They had the easiest landslide victory ever if they put up anyone likable against Obama, and they decided to go full conservative derp, and then realized that the majority of the country isn't that stupid.

I bet the term "Rino" is going to fade away quickly.
As far as Bachmann I heard she is in real trouble holding on to her seat.

More likely the party just sold out to corporations, who then put their guy in there.
Until the "Corporations are people too" bullshit it done away with this is how it's going to be.

We had both dumb and dumber here in Ohio today. Damn shame that this is what both parties have to offer. Never belived this until now, but perhaps IT IS time to get a few more options put on the ballots.
