Obama does not want to ever take the blame for his own ideas only the credit for others.
It's fairly simple, the debt ceiling can be raised if massive cuts are put in place to the country's fiscal budget going forward AND the money saved from those cuts goes to pay down the National Debt.

This Cut, Cap, Balance budget is a waste of time, it will never head to Obama's desk. The vote was 234-190. There are currently 179 Democrats in the U.S. House so it's safe to say that these clowns you allude to are ALL Republicans, American Conservatives. 97% of the entire Dumbass Democrat CAUCUS in the U.S. House of Representatives voted NO. This is dead in the Senate. What a fucking waste of bill, so much for COMPROMISE. Looks like we're heading towards a brink of a civil war.
