Boeing 737 crashing car while taking off - December 30th, 2007

A Boeing 737 crashed a car left on the track, on the 30th of december 2007, on Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest, 11.30 AM.

The plane, belonging to TAROM and carrying 123 persons was heading to Egypt (Sharm-El-Sheikh). While taking-off, the pilot saw a car on the track, right in front of the plane, and a couple of people running from it. The plane crashed the car, turned left, got meters from the track and stopped, with the left engine destroyed and touching the ground. No one was hurt.
The video simulation eronately shows the car on the right of the plane, that turns right, actually it was to the left.

  • The accident was caused from bad comunication betwen control tower and the repairing team. Guys was working on the lightning system. Outside was frosing temperature and hard fog.
    No accidents, most of people (118 from 123)take replacement plane to holiday in Egipt, after 6 or 7 hours.
    Car and plane are destroyed, plane team was congratulated and now airport personal are investigated. From preliminar conclusions of comission they make the mistake and will pay for this. It was a miracle that no More..

  • This a testament to the Romanian people. No screaming of losin self-control is seen or heard. Unfortunately, this is probably felt to be for them just another screwing in a sorry life under Romanian society.

    I am thankful the plane did not ignite with its full load of fuel. I am thankful that no one was injured. I wish for all these people to have a better 2008 ahead.

  • Yeah, that's about the last thing you want to hear while landing. Glad no one was hurt. Tribute to the pilot, although they could have confirmed runway was clear, don't they do that> Romanian gals are hot!
