  • Sweden is up there in the best countries in the world to live. I think it may be at the very top.

    Cheers to you lad.

  • Yeah it's crap. The state is treating all it's citizens as suspects. Same thing happening here in UK.
This hands the terrorist's victory. They done it, they managed to change our way of life and remove our freedoms.

    • Ya, I hate the idea of being video taped all day long everywhere I go. I watched a documentary on whats going on in the UK with the video surveillance and now they are trying to create an program that can identify individuals by their walking gait. Someday they will probably have a profile for every citizen and they will keep a database of your daily movements. This sort of thing has got to be stopped! Its sickening to think of the future.

    • In my opinion... with all the British surveillance they need to start following up with some severe prison sentences. 4 months in prison for bank robbery ain't going to cut it. Start executing some of these un-reformable inmates who have tormented the innocent.

  • hi ace. i dont have anything against the new law since im not a terrorist and besides, they wont monitor the average swede but traffic coming to certain ips on a regular basis from high risk countries. What about all the surveillance cams popping up in every street corner, is that a violation on our privacy, even if they help to solve crimes?

    • They will scan ALL the traffic in and out of the country, by keywords. That means everything! And they will monitor telephonecalls and SMS traffic as well.
If you think that they will not use this to spy on citizens for other reasons than national security, then think about how they admit that they have been monitoring cable-traffic for ten years even though it was illegal. How much confidence do they deserve? I think they deserve jail-time. I think the maximum is 2 years for that particular cr More..

  • Hey there AceManor, you're English is just fine, better than mine on a bad day, and better than any Italian I know!

Don't worry, while there is a demand for freedom on the net, there will be ways to get around that monitoring, thus rendering the efforts useless. I believe in that, because it scares authorities - and that's just how I like them to be.

  • I think this FRA law was forced down our new prime ministers troath when he visited the us president.Just to see how the swedish opinion would react. In just matter of days after he attempted to do likewise in us.So to all Swedish how thinks that what the Bush administration does does not really consern them.Rethink!!!!

  • ..and prevent ppl from commiting them* for example, when i go into town by subway i hope to catch one of the newer ones since they have surveillance cos even if they dont actively stops someone from charging at you it feels more safe.
