@mikedelta12 I guess they were/are but what Ive been reading is that the F35 was a bit of an disappointment.
Im from Finland and we have f-18s ( c-d and just uppgrated arsenal with AGM-154C JSOW and stuff ) and air force is also looking for F35.
But I dont think thats the best solution.
I´d wait for fighter UAV´s.
Funny, we buy those missiles from US, while we own 50% of the company which made sidewinders and other missiles and also the next gen missiles =P

Today the Dutch are going to vote. The outcome will most likely be that the military will be reduced by 20.000 jobs (from the 45.000) and the budget cut by 13%.
Also they will pull back from the F-35 project.

The Dutch have two more stationed in Groningen and the ten more are having a big maintenance check up. The other five or operational in Afghanistan.
After the Dutch have voted today the outcome of the elections will be that leftist parties will decide to only have two orange F16's to drop some Tulips over Afghanistan.
