  • If anybody gets down to Charleston, SC, you can see a B-25 suspended by cables from the ceiling of the hangar deck on the retired aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. There, in what amounts to a naval aviation museum, are exhibits telling all about the Doolittle Raid and other exhibits all about carrier combat in the Pacific in WWII.

    • I went aboard the Yorktown the year before Hugo slammed into Charleston. I liked how they had the combat information center all set up to duplicate an instant in time during a WW II air/sea battle. I enjoyed the view from the rooof myself ;)

  • I'm planning on a 30 min flight in the pacific prowler B-25 when it's here in Colorado in late August. ($400 donation)-I can't wait, they say it's one of the loudest A/C of WW2

  • My late father used to co-own a hangar in Colorado with the late John Denver, was next to a hanger that some old guy kept an old a** WW2 bomber in, thing ran like molten gold... even got to ride in it a few times though the views weren't very good from the cargo area. Gotta love a well kept antique.

  • I watched them all land at the air force museum in Dayton after they left there. They lined up wingtip to wingtip and opened up their throttles. It's one of the coolest things i've ever seen and I forgot my camera.

  • We have one of those based in Galveston. I was sitting on my porch when I heard this approaching low rumble and looked p to see this monster flying low overhead. It was intimidating. I can't imagine what 100 of them flying by and dropping bombs would be like.
