  • Blaming this on a political office? It seems the wind is quite fierce and I doubt that anyone is "doing nothing" to stop it. Kind of hard to stop the winds of mother nature. Stupid stoner wonders why the road was blocked. Look and see moron, because those that know whats going on and how to protect folks from it did what they needed to do.

  • On the radio today I heard we sent a number of water bombers to help, we only had them near because we just put out(we meaning Mom nature, and the efforts of the fire crews) a major rager, it's the dry spring that lets it get like this.
Wind doesn't help either......You know it's not being ignored by anyone.

  • Dimwit. It is the provincial Liberal government that is responsible for fire control in Ontario. Always has been. Every year there are fires that last for weeks but do not let the facts get in the way of your bitching about our federal leaders.

  • I don't appreciate the political jag of the poster. I'm NOT a fan of Harper but this thing can't be blamed on a politician - unless he lit the fire.

A better system of fighting fires would be a good idea. Maybe all Cdn soldiers should be trained in fighting fires. Now, if you send in the army, they don't know what to do. A larger fleet of water bombers would be good but who pays? If Timmins is destroyed the way Slave Lake, Alberta was - I bet all politicians become united.

  • No action? I heard today on the radio that FIFTY-SIX helicopters were utilized to battle the blaze. I am not really sure on your definition of no action.

  • You know when you navigate by a Southern Ontario map, they double the scale when you flip it over. That fucks people up.

Still, I'm way North ot this gagbage.

I'm confident that they're doing everything that they can. Canadians don't make excuses.

  • This is a municipal or at most provincial matter, and seeing that premier Dalton McGuinty was there I would say that government cares, instead of talking shit why don't you go and help out or at least give a fucking thanks to all the people that are trying to put it out. Fifteen water bombers, four Twin Otter aircraft and 56 helicopters are currently battling dozens of fires in the province. About 1,300 people are working on the situation, including 102 from outside Ontario. Get your fucking fac More..

  • how is this harpers fault? i never voted for him and dont really like him but I believe fire fighting falls under municipal jurisdiction. maybe up north it would fall under provincial jurisdiction, but then we should be blaming mcguinty, not harper.

  • Did you think Harper would run out there with a hose? I'm no conservative by any means, but how could you possibly blame him?

And note the emergency vehicles in the foreground. They are probably doing something about it.
