This dinosaur of the oceon was caught somewhere off the coast of Japan,on Jan.21/07.
It was brought to Awashima of Shizuoka, marine park, where it unfortunately died a few hours later.
Officials believe she surfaced because she was ill,or became weak from being in shallow waters.
Qualified as a 'living fossil' this creature normally survives at depths of between 600 to 1000 meters. It has also been called a lizard shark.

The reason it's dead is cos the Japs made sushi out of it as soon as they caught it like in that squid video.

Lets see if it survives in a backyard swimming pool.
Put the thing back in the ocean were you found it and NO, we can't keep it.

Not sure, I guess I could have looked. I would think it might be tough to get your name on a 'close to being extinct list' if the folk that make the list believe you to be already extinct.

just did some searching and it doesn't seem to be the case just a extremely old species of shark and they can be around other places around the world aside from japan, they took this one and put it in a salt water tank but it died hours later

Alternatively, I too felt a little groggy after several hours when last diving at 1000m.
