@prototype Actually lol. You can get class IIIa body armor super thing just as thin as class II.
Go on eBay. Search for class3 body armor. They have mean jackets to wife beaters. My fathers class 3 was no thicker then 1 cm you can wear a thirst and not notice it. And that was in the 90's

I mean, when it comes down to it, 9mm will be laying around everwhere.
Other than that, I’m just not a fan of the round.

@wharris Bullet design has come a long way.
With 9mm, you can get cheap ammo, you can get deadly as hell ammo. It is accurate, low recoil, high capacity, low muzzle flash.
Name another pistol caliber that can do ALL of those things.
.45 and .357 are both expensive, high recoil, low capacity, high muzzle flash, and not much more powerful.

Steel core ammo isn't new. The penetration factor is pretty much the same regardless of the pistol used. Sounds like the performance characteristics of the gun is off if it has to be re-zeroed after using "foreigh" ammunition.
