    • @Tommyr I'll take light pollution and what causes it and not live like people in Afghanistan. A quick trip to the countryside and you see the same thing.

  • its a little grainy because the iso would have been set quite hi and i recon a long exposeure for the stars. yes its probaly been shopped with 2 or 3 images merged onto one. they might have even used a torch to pait light on the rock behind them.

Its a little overexposed for my liking but nice work though, startrails.co.uk is a good bit of software for night pics.

    • @MudMan

I would say a 15sec exposure using a digital cam. The soldiers were probably in almost complete darkness.

    • @ommadawn thats probably about 12 seconds as it is and that guys faces are nearly burnt white. it would be impossible to get a perfect picture with the stars like that.

    • @420pm na its easy to merge, (i do it all the time, with my sony A77 ).

as i said a little over exposed and should have dropped the ISO to 50 or 80. took 3 - 4 shots and merged. Besides us discussing our photography skills the guy who took it has acheived what he wanted,,,,,, 3 guys discussing how he did it, Perfect i would say !

    • @MudMan Oh yeah if you're using a DSLR and Photoshop, its no worries. I prefer manual and raw images :)

    • @420pm I onky use manual, shutter priority, aperture priority and shoot in both raw and jpg.
