An exciting picture of a pit bull who refuses to leave the side of a dead dog on a highway in Phoenix, United States, has left millions of Facebook users aware.

According to a Fox affiliate in Phoenix, the dog, who was also a pit bull, had been hit by a car on Friday (19). The dog stood beside the body for more than 14 hours.

"He would not let her in any way, then a merchant left food and water close by," the TV. "The dog was lying beside her, giving kept nuzzling up to collect the body Saturday morning (20)."

The dogs did not have any identification when found. "We take the live dog to a shelter in East Valley," said the person responsible for animal control in the city, Rodrigo Silva. The official also said the pit bull is "a little isolated and appears to be very sad."

"If he continues to demonstrate isolation, we'll put you in a rehab center that can help you get rid of suffering," Silva told the Daily Mail.

"I'm so angry about it," said Karyn Aspan, who saw the picture on Facebook and wrote on your Wall: "The control animals only answered the call after 14.5 hours."

Aspan, who lives in Chicago, told Fox 10 he called the city of Phoenix to complain, and launched a campaign on Facebook to find a home alongside the dog.
