What Government, corporate America, and Banks do to the American people. Then they ask the American people (taxpayers) to pay for removing your jobs

Read it and weep America....Your middle class is going to be another countries middle class and you will be out of work and your families starving while you as a taxpayer pay for it.

Globalization has been brutal to midwestern manufacturers like the Paper Converting Machine Co. For decades, PCMC's Green Bay (Wis.) factory, its oiled wooden factory floors worn smooth by work boots, thrived by making ever-more-complex equipment to weave, fold, and print packaging for everything from potato chips to baby wipes.

But PCMC has fallen on hard times. First came the 2001 recession. Then, two years ago, one of the company's biggest customers told it to slash its machinery prices by 40% and urged it to move production to China. Last year, a St. Louis holding company, Barry-Wehmiller Cos., acquired the manufacturer and promptly cut workers and nonunion pay. In five years sales have plunged by

    • NAFTA is not technically global, it only involves North and South America. Corporate America = stockholders and banks = caretakers of capital. If the stockholders are told their portfolios will increase in value if operations are moved overseas I'm sure they said no, stay in the U.S. Banks don't really have a say where Corporate America does business just so they repay their loans with interest. The American worker has got to do something everything else on this planet has to do sooner or later. More..

    • Sounds like your beef is with your company not Clinton. The stockholders or owners could have said thanks but no thanks we will stay in the states. If NAFTA was such a disaster why the hell didn't Bush opt out of the deal.

  • Words you will never hear. How about "Outsource Management". I would feel better if the got of the overpaid fools who run some American companies. Use Japanese management and American workers. Give higher pay for management only based on job performance.
How Globalism was marketed to Americans in the first place is a mystery to me. It's been a disaster for the middle class from the beginning. You exchange lower cost products now for future jobs.
It's a very short sighted way of loo More..

  • Perhaps we should not bailing out things that fail...like our government which failed the American public for thier wars.

So the government can make your family suffer...they can give our hard earned dollars to other things that fail? And are not looking out for your best interest? Then talk to you like you are children. What do you think about their attitude towards you?

  • There wouldn't be so much need to outsource if the US wouldn't stop producing so many useless people with overdeveloped senses of entitlement. Every job I've ever worked was filled with useless fucks, lacking the requisite skills & work ethic and maxing out on sick days year after year after year. We consume too much and produce too little.

  • Well, that's the capitalism you love so much, where the rich exploit the poor just to get more money.
