Scenes of apparant insanity and carnage as an amateur cameraman runs around filming an urban war zone and screaming each time a shell lands near him (Homs, Bab Siba, March 19th 2012). He complains that the Syrian army is bombing the urban area.

However, the second video shows FSA - Al-Qaeda turning a fully furnished civilian home into a military base, which turns that home into a military target for the Syrian army. The speaker in the video claims to be from the "mujahideen" of the "unit of Abdurahman" in Homs, and suggests they are protecting civilians, however, by taking over civilian homes and sheltering behind human shields their acts are resulting in the exact opposite.

Human Rights Watch has criticised the armed factions fighting the government for gross human rights abuses, including executions, torture, and kidnapping of both soldiers and civilians:
