  • I personally know two obama voters that didn't purchase any health insurance. They didn't purchase any not because they just didn't want to, they didn't purchase any because they COULDN'T FUCKING afford any.

    LMAO

they both stated they will not be voting for obama again.

"obama was supposed to help me, not give me more bills"

Democrats raised the taxes of those who could afford it the least. Slimy bastards

    • @JihadKiller1s1k Then perhaps your anger is better placed with the insurance companies who charge so much? I guess you don't find it sick that an entire industry exists to prey upon the sick and poor? An industry which employs people *whose job* it is to screw people out of insurance payments?

      BUT BUT OBAMA OOBLOOBLOOBLOO

  • This really makes one's head spin.
President Obama has really argued EVERY side of this discussion.

-The White House argued on Friday that the individual mandate at the heart of Obamacare is a penalty, not a tax. “It's a penalty, because you have a choice. You don't have a choice to pay your taxes, right?" Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One. – CBS News

  • I don't care what you call it but I am tired of paying to support worthless ghetto vermin who shit babies out like fucking rabbits. These same people are the ones who overwhelm the healthcare system with their f'n diabetes and perpetual neo-natal care and endless drug rehab. Please someone, republican or democrat, put something in their f'n water already and stop the insanity.

    • @BullsOnParadeNYC Yeah, I bet you're extremely tired of paying to support ghetto vermin.

But I guess you're perfectly fine with the *far larger* amount you pay to support war in the middle east?

    • @cswartz Funny story, did you know I wrote a college dissertation on the Arab Spring... two years before it happened?

Not foresight, simple extrapolation. Looking at events today to deduce what will probably happen tomorrow.

I try not to do it anymore. This is because when I do, I am led to the same inevitable conclusion.

Haha! The Arab spring? Man, anyone could see that a bunch of filthy third-world idiots would get mad at their corrupt, repressive, ultra-conservative, thieving governments.

Anyone can predict there to be political upheavel...it's the Middle East.

    • @downhill2400 Which it... does.

See, when every American is covered, NO American needs to fear being bankrupted by a $100,000 medical procedure. Your premium goes up, but in exchange, your family and future isn't destroyed when one of you gets sick.

I thought this was a pretty elementary thing to understand... then again, the elementary level is where most conservatives top out.

  • It was pretty well televised this health care debate back sooooo long ago some can't remember. What was wanted was universal health care, what we got was the GOP proposal from the 1990s. But today the 1990s GOP is Marxist Commies I guess...

  • If there's one thing Republicans shouldn't be doing right now, it's opening up the flood gates of what was said by and about the candidates during their respective primaries. That's a Pandora's Box Romney should be way more worried about opening than Obama.

you don't even have to go back that far.
In reading the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare, it is clear that the government (President Obama) argued to the supreme court in March of 2012, that the mandate was a tax.

"In pressing its taxing power argument, the Government asks the Court to view the mandate as imposing a tax on those who do not buy that product" - SCOTUS

    • @wharris I don't give a flying fuck if it's called a tax or a penalty. It's all semantics. If the government is subsidizing healthcare for people who can afford insurance but don't buy it then inevitably end up in the system, then it's sound fiscal policy to recoup some of that money so responsible people who buy insurance and pay taxes aren't supporting freeloaders who are relying on them to offset the cost of their care. This is an idea fiscally responsible Republicans (cough, cough Romney More..

Well you should. But its clear to me you are confused. "the government" does not really subsidize anything. It’s us, the taxpayers that subsidize everything.
I don’t get how you think this is gonna cost less. This program removes all forces that ordinarily keep costs down.

      1. Fine. As a taxpayer, I don't want to subsidize healthcare for people who can afford insurance but choose not to purchase it. Feel better now?

      2. This is going to cost less for the same reason car insurance is cheap. Everyone who drives has to have it. More people paying into the system spreads risk and liability across a larger number of people. That is how insurance works, dude.

      3. I am not going to be taxed for this because I HAVE INSURANCE. You really ought to learn mor More..

in the past, i could theoretically, drop all insurance, and not owe.

      not now.

that is a major difference. its a loss of freedom.

And there is not a credible economist that says this will make things more affordable.

everyine will pay more, and get less.

Remember this was a 800billion program. now its what? 1.7 trillion?

      really saving us money eh?

And you have not addressed the complete bullshit about the administration arguing both sides of this argument..
