Ramp up the fear to get public support to bomb Saddam.
Difference is Bush invaded and occupied Iraq instead of going after the real bad guys in Afghanistan.
Remember Iraq was a secular country with NOTHING to do with Islamic radicals until Bush invaded and gave power to radicals like al sadr.

saddam brought the bombing of Iraq on himself.....the world thought he had these wmd because of his lies....what was different was we were attacked by nuts and we decided to not only go after them but also go after other nut that posed a threat to the world when alot of others were to big of pussys to do it or they was in bed with saddam themselfs

Reports by the US Senate's committee on banking, housing and urban affairs -- which oversees American exports policy -- reveal that the US, under the successive administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr, sold materials including anthrax, VX nerve gas, West Nile fever germs and botulism to Iraq right up until March 1992, as well as germs similar to tuberculosis and pneumonia. Other bacteria sold included brucella melitensis, which damages major organs, and clostridium perfringens, which causes gas gangrene.
