Detroit Diesel 12-71 Cold Start Yacht Run Away
After 4 years of not running, I bring back online 12-71 NA Detroit. Tried to run away on me.
Used the cut off,but still Had to pull the governer back really hard to shut down. Detroit Diesel's

i had that happen to me on a detroit diesel we were fixing for a crane. I took a sledge to bust the fuel lines...before that i put a rubber mud flap over the air intake and it sucked it right in like it was nothing

as a kid i used to tear these down for rebuilds for Northwest Motor Welding, then Cummings bought em out... its was a fun job for a 13yr old. prolly did four dozen.. still smell the hot tank...
