Racing south from Retford (full copy)

reposted this for I just noticed half of it was missing, not too sure as to why, so I deleted the first copy and posted the longer version again. you can see and hear the loco performing well at full line speed, 75 mph in places, she's nice and stable too. I'm often amazed at how restricted the forward view was on some of these massive leviathans. Both Fireman and Driver looked out for signals and they drove in near pitch darkness to preserve their night sight.

original txt; 'short clip of the famous Gresley designed A4 Pacific locomotive Sir Nigel Gresley named after the great Chief Mechanical Engineer of the London And North East Railway (LNER) who designed engines like the Flying Scotsman and Mallard which still holds the world speed record for steam locomotives. He would have approved this run from Retford into Kings Cross and the hands of Driver Ron Smith both his father and grand father were drivers of this magnificent machine. This was the 100 th A4 made and ran from 1937 up until the end of steam traction 1966, it was then off to the breakers yard where she sat for a year or two until three chaps had an idea ... after several Trusts cared for her and a full restoration she is now back Mainline Certified and earning money on Charters and Promotions etc'.
