While this is true, because we were raised in this culture, and under our laws passed by our freely elected executive representatives, it is illegal. Its rape when it is FORCED and isn't consensual, but people argue if a 13 year-old is allowed to intelligently give consent. I lol at child porn charges for teenage girls who capture themselves on film, charging them is just plain retarded. I also feel badly for people like this girl, who ruin their lives to have sex and even a ******* child with someone not even mature enough to pack their own lunch. To each their own I guess.

every society has its own rules. your genetic predisposition will determine whether those rules are a curse or a boon
if you're born gay and you live in Egypt, for example, and you just happen to have a dalliance and the wrong people (i.e., the other 98 percent that agree with the rules) find that out you are severely ****ed (death sentence)
same goes if you're born with pedophilic tendencies. or masochistic tendencies. or whatever tendencies you have that determine who you are but which cannot be genetically/biochemically avoided
anyone who reads what i am writing, and studies biology/genetics/sociology, knows that this is true. it is unavoidable
since i'm in a boon position given my heterosexuality in California, and my preference for girls over 18 and my already existent long-term relationship, i have nothing to worry about. but i know if the circumstances were different i'd be one of those people in the news stories
i really think our destiny is determined by genetics, most of the time. but the choices you make, within the confines of the rules of your respective society, are not predetermined. and if your society ends up being your jail cell it's better to move to one that thinks like you do

Definitely Yes, but it is a little strange to witness the paradigm shift in the social mores of our culture and to be standing at the tipping point of such a phenomenon.

if we observe how teenagers are reacting toward each other, these days, it's a lot different from how it was, say, in 1995 (when i was in high school)

Absolutely. It reminds me of the Salem witch trials. I agree completely that certain types of sex related crimes should be prosecuted. The problem is too many elected officials are using this to further their political careers at the expense of some poor persons life. There was an article on here recently where a young man wrote of his fathers suicide. His father had been accused and cleared of such charges. Even though he was cleared in the court he lost his job and his friends. He decided it would be better to be dead. Anyone who thinks this couldn't happen to them is living in a dream world. Here I'm speaking of someone deciding they can extort moneys from you simply by threatening to accuse you of sexually motivated contact. There are people on sexual predator lists for consensual sex with persons under the "legal" age. We're talking aout 16 years old boys having sex with 16 year old girls etc.

if Americans relied on science, fact, and common sense more than religion and 'crime wave' hysteria to determine their laws, the same way Europeans generally do, we wouldn't even be having this discussion
it's not about giving sexual predators rights and a free pass it's about science, fact, and keeping your head cool when determining the future of your own society, your own people, of you. it's about not permanently scarring/destroying people, such as 18 year old boys who mess with 16 year old girls, over draconian and unnecessary laws
i typically tell people here if you want to destroy someone else's life over a criminal offense make sure, spend your time researching for at least a couple hours, that you know what you are asking for. seek the opposite of what you want, or think is the truth, and see if it contradicts your initial outlook
what i'm telling people, though, can lead some of them to demons they don't want to face
