Maryland State Police (MSP) release dramatic dash cam video of a Baltimore mother and her baby son escaping a kidnapper.

“We have the female, she has the baby in her hand,” the police pursuing the suspect said.

The July 2011 carjacking started at a gas station in West Baltimore, then turned into on a wild, 40-mile police pursuit at triple-digit speeds.

“When I seen the Northern Virginia sign, I thought he was going to rape me and kill me in front of my son or something,” Elsya Samuels recalled in a July interview. That’s when Samuels made the decision to grab her son Juju and jump.

“Female just jumped out the car. She’s in the far right lane,” police said during the chase.

“I really didn’t want to jump, but I didn’t know what else to do,” Samuels said. “So I acted like I was putting my seat belt on, and I pushed the door open, used this leg and jumped out.” In court Friday, Terron White pleads guilty to two counts of kidnapping.

“As a result of that plea, he faces 40 years in jail,” said Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy.

And perhaps time with additional charges pending.

The mother and her son were not seriously hurt.
