holy shit . i didn't think cottonmouths were immune to second hand rattlesnake venom. however, the rattlesnakes mouth was closed and i hear their venom sacks don't get compressed in that position. still, that has to cause some type of indigestion.

The tiny flies look like fruit flies,my compost pile is full of them,so maybe it has to do with all the wet partially composted leaves and detrius on the ground.

Great video living in s.florida I see both of these in the wild and they are both aggresive but the cotton mouth will actually give chase and climb into a boat. Were rattlesnakes usually get defensive and try to escape.
