I'm a civil engineer for MODOT and this problem is avoidable if you can get an alternate route in place a week or two beforehand so traffic can adjust and make it easier to do your business. It looks like more money on paper, but you'll finish earlier and have better results.

no @ cents no I dont mind it is what it is,,,, city livin and workin,, and we do give advance notice but for 30 min a day of moving they change nothing... why trooper is their,,, thanks for watchin all my people have all their PPG on and are doing it by the numbers,, when we have to do anything against the book we ask safty,,,, sometime sux but we all want to go home,,,

@thecleaner001 Thanks, Lao Tse! I'm older than my fellow students, and when I hear them whine about a subject being boring, I explain that the most "boring" subject in the world....well, at least 100 people have made it their life's work, and probably a dozen have written entire books about it.

Its all about safty.Safty of the construction workers, Safty of the motorists, Safty of any pedestrians. I know a bit about this because I step out in front of traffic with a STOP/SLOW bat and provide the SAFTY for everybody.
